Section 7A track & field finals were held Friday at UMD with several local athletes qualifying for the state track meet.

The Esko girls’ relay teams swept the competition by winning all four events. The Esko girls’ team also boasted several other top finishers with Janae Beaudot finishing first in both the high jump and long jump. Kate Shelerud won the 800, while eighth grader Kallyn Knutson took first place honors in the 3200-meter run.

Top individual honors featured Leah Nordvall of Barnum winning the 100m and 200m dash, while finishing second in the long jump. Natasha Dragicevich took top honors in the 100 and 300 hurdles, while just missing out on the high jump
by
finishing third. Freshman Lindsey Dahl-Holm, who finished second in the 3200-meter run, will represent Carlton.

Cromwell boys Jordan Suhonen and Jordan Smith finished 1-2 in the 800-meter run and will make the trip down south. Nick Kwapick of ML-WR finished first in the 300-meter hurdles, qualifying him for the state tournament.
