DULUTH, Minn. – St. Scholastica women’s soccer’s Megan Flesvig (Duluth, Minn./Proctor HS) was named to the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) College Scholar All-Central Region second team; it was announced on Saturday.

Flesvig, senior defender, was a second team NSCAA All-North Region selection, the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference’s (UMAC) Defensive Player of the Year for the second consecutive season and led a defensive that was nearly impossible to score on in league play. The Saints allowed just one goal in the conference during the regular season and at one point had a shutout streak of 11 consecutive games, totaling 1,041 minutes and 14 seconds. The Proctor High School grad was also named to the UMAC’s First Team for the second year in a row.

To be nominated for consideration, student-athletes must have at least a 3.30 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) throughout their career; start more than 50 percent of all games and be a significant contributor to the team; be nominated by an institution that is a current NSCAA College Services member; be a junior or above in academic standing at the current institution and either be in their second year at the current school if a transfer student.

Flesvig has a 3.70 grade-point-average and majors in Advertising & Public Relations. She was an honorable mention scholar-athlete selection after her junior season.
