A solid overall team effort was enough for the Proctor boys basketball team to take a 55-42 win over a scrappy Carlton squad in the opening round of the Proctor Holiday Tournament on Wednesday.

The Rails had three players in double figure scoring and almost four players in double-digits. They also played superb defense and did not allow a 3-point field goal all game from the Bulldogs.

Leading Proctor were; Anders Voss with 14 points, Kaz Anderson who had 13 and Charles Burns who finished with 10 points. Jacob White nearly made double-digits with nine points, Jordan Carey added six and Tyler Schubert finished with two, while Justin Radelat added a single point.

Erik Adams, with 19 points, was the only player in double figures for the Bulldogs. Kyle Gunderson finished with eight, it was five each for Lane Empson and Zach Veno, Dekota Frear finished with four and Spencer Walton recorded one point.

Proctor held a 24-19 edge at halftime and then outscored the Bulldogs 31-23 in the second half.

The Rails
will now take on Deer River, 80-32 winners over South Ridge in the championship game at 7:30pm. Carlton will go against South Ridge at 5:30 for third place.
