The South Ridge Panthers girls basketball team made another HUGE statement that they will be a tough team to beat this season when they downed Proctor 59-21 in the title game of the Proctor Holiday Tournament on Wednesday.

It wasn’t the fact that the Panthers won the game, or the tournament, it was how they took the championship game. With Kendra Dallmann tossing in a game-high 25 points, the Panthers cruised to a 35-8 halftime lead and handled the Rails with ease.

All phases of the game went in the direction of the Panthers. The Panthers had 19 field goals to just five for the Rails. Of those 19 shots from the field four of them were beyond the 3-point arc. South Ridge also was impressive at the free-throw line where they went 13-for16.

Mikayla Olesiak and Kourtney Karppinen also were in double figure scoring with 12 and 11 points respectively. Also scoring were; Justice Janke with six, while both Kaylee Hage and Alyssa Johnson had two points and Amelia Chapman finished with a single point.

Kyra Harty was in double figures with 11 points for the Rails. Steph Torgeson finished with three points, Laura Talarico, Bridget Tesser and Micayla Westendorf all had a pair of points and Cecelia Everson had a single point for Proctor.

Dallmann also had a strong opening game, scoring 20 points against Deer River. Karppinen led the Panthers with 23 points in the 67-37 opening game win for South Ridge.
