After a heartbreaking one point first round loss in the Proctor Holiday Tournament the Carlton girls basketball team came back with a third place win over Deer River 58-25 on Wednesday night.

The Bulldogs showed early that this game would be different than their first round loss. Carlton outscored Deer River 28-12 in the first half and did a good job throughout the game of not allowing the Warriors second chances on the offensive end.

Lindsey Dahl-Holm and Clarissa Nelson led the Bulldogs with 15 and 14 points respectively, but Carlton also got some balanced scoring throughout their lineup. Adding eight points was Taylor Klassen, Brooke Camps and Ashley Anderson each had six points, Myranda Papesh finished with five and Tori Zime scored three points.

Deer River did not have a player in double figures and were led by the eight points of Maija Erzar.
