Lots of shots and a lot of good goaltending took place at the Proctor Ice Arena on Monday night when Proctor-Hermantown tied 4-4 with Eveleth-Gilbert in girls hockey.

The Mirage outshot the Golden Bears 12-8 in the first period and 38-32 for the game, but Golden Bear netminder Vickie Fossland was tough between the pipes by making 34 saves on those 38 shots. Meanwhile Mirage goalie Courtney Simmons finished up with 28 saves on 32 shots.

Proctor-Hermantown went up 2-1 in the first period on goals by; Sophie McGovern and Justine Lindberg, while the Golden Bears also got a goal from Maari Benda.

Second period action saw Reilly Fawcett score first for Proctor-Hermantown to give them a 3-1 lead, but Katie Kingston slammed home three goals before the end of the period to make it 4-3 in favor of the Golden Bears. Kingston scored the natural hat track over the last half of the second period.

The lone third period goal was by the Mirage as McGovern picked up her second goal of the game which tied the game and eventually sent the game into overtime.
