The Duluth Denfeld Hunters came up just short on Tuesday night, falling to the Hibbing Bluejackets 84-83.

The Hunters trailed Hibbing 43-37 at the end of the first half. Denfeld would claw themselves back into the game, outscoring the Bluejackets 46-41 in the second half, but it wouldn’t be enough as they fell just short of the comeback.

In the loss for the Hunters, Armon Freeman scored a game high 32 points. Josh Reinertsen followed him with 24 points, while Joe Cvancara and Antonio Mack scored 13 and 10 points respectively. Rounding the scoring out was Donny Northcutt with 4 points.

In the win for Hibbing, Luke Lundell scored 25 points, followed by Mayson Brown who had 22 points and Ayden McDonald who tallied 13 points.

With the loss, the Hunters fall to 5-8 on the season. They will be back in action on January 18th when they face the Superior Spartans. Hibbing improved to 7-6 with the win.
