Ruberg Pours In 57 Points For Two Harbors

Two Harbors played host to the Carlton Bulldogs on Friday night, winning 89-80. In the win, Agates senior, Jayden Ruberg scored 57 points, breaking the school record of 54 points, set in 1971.

The Agates went into the half with a narrow 38-36 lead and continued in the second half, outscoring the Bulldogs 51-44 to secure the win.

In addition to Ruberg, Carson Wenger scored 17 points, while Ricky Brenna notched 6, Dyland Barrick scored 5, Ryan Nowacki scored 3, and Jeremy Carter rounded it out with 1.

In the loss for the Bulldogs, Matthew Santkuyl scored 27 points. He was followed by Trevor Ojibway and Scott Rousseau who scored 14 and 11 respectively. Also scoring was Adam Hey with 9, Miles Bennett with 8, Justin Swanson with 7, and Spencer Rousseau with 4.

With the win, the Agates snap a 7 game losing streak and move to 2-7 on the season. They will look for another win on January 17th when they play Eveleth-Gilbert. Carlton drops to 3-8 on the year and will look to snap a losing streak of their own on January 15th when they face off with their rivals, the Wrenshall Wrens.
