Turnovers Cost Lumberjacks

The Cloquet Lumberjacks lost their first regular season game since October 19th of 2017 on Friday night. The Lumberjacks coughed the ball up three times and threw an interception in an 18-14 loss to the North Branch Vikings.

The Lumberjacks got out to a quick start, scoring on a 38 yard run by Andre Peters to go up 6-0. North Branch responded with a 37 yard touchdown run of their own by Conner Hartmann, tying the game at 6-6.

The Lumberjacks would go up 14-6 before the first quarter ended on a 18 yard run from Markus Pokornowski.

North Branch would then pitch a shutout in the second half, while scoring on a 12 yard run from Eric Nadeu and a three yard run from Hartmann to secure the 18-14 victory.

The Lumberjacks drop to 3-1 on the season with the loss and will look to bounce back against Grand Rapids (1-3) on September 28th. The Vikings move to 2-2 on the season.
