The 9th ranked Hermantown Hawks remained unbeaten Friday night, flying past the Grand Rapids Thunderhawks 34-8.

The Thunderhawks took an early 8-0 lead on a one yard plunge from Brock Holm, but it would be all Hermantown from there.

The Hawks tied the game at 8-8 on a 37 yard pass from Tate Hansen to Elliott Peterson. On the opening kickoff of the second half, the Hawks took the 14-8 lead on an 80 yard kickoff return by Peterson.

David Cornelius then kicked off a 20 point fourth quarter with two scores, one from four yards out and one from 25 yards, to push the Hawks lead to 27-8.

Adam Prouty then capped the win off with a 60 yard interception return, making it a 34-8 final.

The Hawks (4-0) will look to remain unbeaten when they face the Duluth East Greyhounds (2-2) on September 28th. The Thunderhawks drop to 1-3 with the loss.
