The fourth ranked Cromwell Cardinals remained unbeaten on Friday night, topping the Carlton Bullogs 51-14.

Kannon Korpela got the Cardinals out to a fast start, returning a punt return 80 yards to give them an early 8-0 lead. Korpela followed it up with a 54 yard run on the Cardinals next possession, pushing the lead to 16-0. Cameron Cahoon increased the Cromwell lead to 22-0 before the end of the first quarter on a two yard plunge.

Cromwell took a 36-0 lead into the half after a pair of rushing touchdowns from Drew Libbon.

The third quarter started off with a fumble on the kick return, but got possession of the ball back three plays later on a Bulldogs turnover. The Cardinals capitalized on the turnover with Korpela scrambling 62 yards to the end zone, pushing it to 43-0. Drew Libbon then connected with Taye Anderson from five yards out, increasing the Cromwell lead to 51-0.

The Bulldogs would finally get on the board midway through the fourth quarter when Tanner Anderson danced his way into the end zone from four yards out. Carlton then capitalized on a fumble during the kick return, with Austin Davis getting into the end zone from nine yards out to make it a 51-14 final.

The Cardinals (5-0) will host Isle (2-3) on October 5th, with kickoff at 7:00pm. The Bulldogs, who are now 3-2 on the season, look to bounce back against Northome/Kelliher (3-1) on October 5th.
