Floodwood Edges McGregor

The McGregor Mercuries and Floodwood Polar Bears squared off in a nail bitter on Friday night, with the Polar Bears edging the Mercs out, 60-55.

Floodwood led the Mercs 23-19 at the half and would continue much of the same in the second half, outscoring McGregor 37-36 to secure the win.

Jaxson Heggedahl led the way for Floodwood with 18 points. Following Heggedahl was Bryce Tahja with 16 points and Jeffrey Palmer with 15 points. Also scoring in the win was Kalen Kuehl with 4, Isaac Rohde with 3, and Blaine Dahl and Cam Goutermont each with 2.

In the loss for the Mercs, Carson Passer tallied a game high 21 points. Also scoring in double digits was Joe Baker with 12 points and Joey Glunz with 10. Rounding out the scoring for McGregor was Ethan Sampson and Marshall Passer each with 5 points and Logan Jackson with 2 points.

With the win the Polar Bears move to 5-6 on the year. They will look for another win on January 9th when they travel to play the Cromwell Cardinals (7-3). The Mercs drop to 4-4 on the year and will look to respond on January 9th when they travel to play the Wrenshall Wrens (8-1).
