MLWR Advances In Playoffs

The Moose Lake Willow River Rebels advanced in the 7AA playoffs on Tuesday night, topping Crosby-Ironton, 20-7.

MLWR’s Ian Coil kicked off the scoring for the Rebels, bolting his way to the endzone from 62 yards out to put the Rebels up 6-0.

Crosby Ironton responded with a 57 yard touchdown run of their own, but MLWR was quick to answer with a one yard plunge from Trent Juhl, putting them up 12-7 at halftime.

In the 4th quarter, the Rebels put the icing on the cake with a nine yard pass from Coil to Colton Little, making it a 20-7 final in the opening round of the 7AA playoffs.

With the win, the Rebels improve to 4-5 on the season. They will be back in action on October 28th when they square off with their rivals, the Barnum Bombers. Kickoff will be at 1:00pm.

Crosby-Ironton finished their season with a 2-7 record.
