The Duluth Greyhounds season came to an end on Tuesday night, falling to the St. Francis Fighting Saints, 45-21 in the opening round of the Section 7AAAAA playoffs.

The Greyhounds got out to a fast start with Justin Cone connecting with Josh Daniels-Hanbury on a 65 yard connection, but it would be all St. Francis from there, as they rallied off 31 unanswered points to go into the half with a 31-7 lead.

Duluth East’s Therald Kimball scored on a two yard run early in the third quarter, cutting the Fighting Saints lead down to 31-15, but St. Francis would notch two more touchdowns in the fourth, making it 45-15.

Duluth East scored on a late 20 yard pass from Cone to Nick Swor, but it wouldn’t affect the outcome as the Fighting Saints upset the Greyhounds 45-21.

The Greyhounds ended their season with 5-4 record. St. Francis improves to a 2-7 record on the year.
