Bulldogs Win Season Finale

The Carlton Bulldogs traveled to Onamia to take on the Panthers on Wednesday night, walking away with the 44-6 victory.

Jacob Santkuyl got the Bulldogs off to a hot start with a pair of touchdowns. Crane connected with Santkuyl on a 10 yard pass and then Santkuyl followed it up with a 10 yard run to put the Bulldogs up 13-0 early.

Onamia’s Brandon Wade responded with a 20 yard run, cutting into the Bulldogs lead, making it 13-6.

Carlton would dominate for the rest of the game, starting with a 20 yard connection from Crane to Matt Santkuyl to make the score 20-6 heading into the half.

Coming out of the half, Jackson Mickle started a 21 point third quarter with a 20 yard scamper, making it 27-6. Austin Davis pushed the lead to 34-6 on a two yard plunge, while Crane and Jacob Santkuyl connected for another touchdown pass, this time a 56 yard completion. Kristian Herman put the icing on the cake, nailing a 20 yard field goal to make it a final score of 44-6.

The Bulldogs improve to 3-5 on the year and will travel to Wrenshall to face the Wrens in the first round of the Section 5 9-man playoffs. The Panthers of Onamia dropped to 0-8 on the year.
