The McGregor Mercs traveled to Carlton Friday night to face off with the Bulldogs in Carlton’s final home game of the regular season, as it was the Bulldogs walking away with a 24-20 victory.

Jackson Mickle led the Bulldogs on the ground with 122 yards rushing on 23 attempts, scoring one touchdown.

Jake Santkuyl had a very productive day recieving, catching five balls for 160 yards and a touchdown, averaging 32 yards per reception. Santkuyl also added 81 yards and a touchdown on the ground in the win.

The first quarter went scoreless, then the Bulldogs poured things on in the second, scoring three touchdowns to take an early game lead, one they would not relinquish.

Santkuyl caught a 50+ yard touchdown, while Mickle rushed another score in. Quarterback/Linebacker Kaden Crane scooped up a fumble by the Mercs, returning it a long 57 yards for six.

In the third quarter, Santkuyl would haul in a pass from Krane for 23 yards and the score, ultimately being the deciding factor in a tight contest.

The Bulldogs record moves to 2-5 on the season, with the Dogs looking to add to that column Wednesday night, as they travel to Onamia to take on the Panthers.

McGregor falls to 4-3, and will look to bounce back with a win against visiting Isle Wednesday night in McGregor.
