Softball playoffs continue in the Northland on May 30th, with the sections treading towards the Section finals.

In Section 7A, the top-seeded team in the northern section, the Nashwauk-Keewatin Spartans will battle with the defending Section 7A champions, the Cherry Tigers with a trip to the Section Finals on the line. First pitch is at 2pm in Cloquet. The two winners play one another in an elimination game for the chance to play in the Section 7A championship game.

In the bottom half of the bracket, the South Ridge Panthers and Carlton Bulldogs battle in an elimination game. First pitch is scheduled for 12pm in Cloquet.

In the other Section 7A elimination game, the Silver Bay Mariners and Barnum Bombers take the field. They will also begin their game at 12pm in Cloquet.

In Section 7AA, the Virginia Blue Devils and defending champion, Esko Eskomos, take the field, with the winner advancing to the championship game. They will play in Grand Rapids at 2pm.

In the two elimination games, it is the Moose Lake-Willow River Rebels and International Falls Broncos going to battle and the Proctor Rails and Rush City Tigers facing off. Both games are played in Grand Rapids, with the first pitches happening at 12pm. The two winners will then play for the chance to play in the Section 7AA finals.

Lastly, in Section 7AAA, its the defending champions, the Hermantown Hawks face off against the Chisago Lakes Wildcats. They will begin at 3:30pm in Chisago Lakes, with the winner going to the Section 7AAA championship game.

In the elimination game, the Grand Rapids Thunderhawks and North Branch Vikings square off in Chisago Lakes at 3:30pm. The winner of this game will play the loser of the Hermantown and Chisago Lakes game for a chance to play in the Section championship game.
