Section 7A Baseball Playoff Preview

Baseball playoffs are set to begin in the northland, with Sections 7A beginning on May 30th.

In Section 7A, the Deer River Warriors and South Ridge Panthers both received a bye and the top seed in each sub-section and with both play their first games at 4:30pm.

Receiving the 2nd seed in the Northern bracket was the Ely Timberwolves (13-7). They will face off against the 7th seeded Littlefork-Big Falls Vikings (3-11) in Marble at 2pm. Receiving the 2nd seed in the South side of the brackets is the Carlton Bulldogs (11-7). They will face the Wrenshall Wrens (1-11) in Proctor at 2pm.

Receiving the 3rd seed in the Northern bracket was the North Woods Grizzlies (11-6). The Grizzlies will battle the 6th seeded Nashwauk-Keewatin Spartans (5-14) at 4:30pm in Marble. In the Southern bracket, the 3rd seed went to the Cook County Vikings (6-8). They will go to battle with the 6th seeded Moutain-Iron Buhl Rangers (4-13) in Proctor at 4:30pm.

Receiving the 4th and 5th seeds in the North bracket is the Chisholm Bluestreaks (5-7) and Northeast Range Nighthawks (4-8), respectively. They will play their game in Ely at 2pm. In the South side, the 4th seed is the Silver Bay Mariners (8-10), who will take on the 5th seeded Cherry Tigers (5-14) in Esko at 2pm.

The winners of each game will play a second game at the same locations.
