Duluth Marshall Edges Duluth Denfeld In Extra Innings

It took 9 innings for the Duluth Marshall Hilltoppers and Duluth Denfeld Hunters to decide a winner, but Duluth Marshall’s Peter Hansen would drive in the winning run in the top of the 9th inning, to lead the Hilltoppers past the Hunters, 5-4.

Hansen would finish the game going 5-5 with a double and two runs batted in. Ben Pedersen got the win in relief for the Hilltoppers, pitching 3.2 innings, allowing one run on three hits while striking out three.

Jarrod Smith went 3-5 with an RBI for the Hunters, while Logan Jasper went 2-5 with an RBI. Izaak Smith took the loss after pitching 4 innings, allowing just one earned run, while striking out three.

The Hilltoppers move to 6-1 on the season. They will look to win their 5th consecutive game on April 28th when they travel to play the Virginia Blue Devils. Duluth Denfeld fell to 3-3 with the loss and will look to bounce back against the Superior Spartans on May 1st
