Carlton’s Mickle Wrings Wrens

Carlton’s Jackson Mickle powered the Bulldogs to victory on Tuesday night, hitting two home runs over the crosstown rival, en route to the 9-4 victory.

The Bulldogs got off to a slow start, but in the bottom of the 4th inning with two outs, Mickle hit his first home run, to give Carlton a 3-2 lead. The Bulldogs would end up keeping the lead, scoring 8 runs in the final three innings, to get the 9-4 victory.

Mickle ended the game going 3-4 with 3 RBI’s, to go with the two home runs. Also chipping in on the offensive side for the Bulldogs was Sam Macor, who went 3-3 with a double and two RBI’s and Leif Herman who went 2-3 with an RBI.

Evan Gray got the win for the Bulldogs, going 6 innings allowing three runs on four hits while striking out nine. This was Gray’s 3rd win of the season.

Adam DeVall got the loss for the Wrens, pitching 4.2 innings, allowing six runs on 11 hits while striking out seven.

The Bulldogs moved to 5-2 with the victory and will travel to Silver Bay on May 4th to take on the Mariners. The Wrens drop to 1-3 on the season and will host the McGregor Mercs on May 4th at Braun Park.
