Section 7AA Girls Basketball Semi-Finals Preview

The Esko Eskomos and Proctor Rails have both advanced to the Section 7AA girls basketball semi-finals, with both games taking place on March 7th.

The Rails advanced to the semi-finals after defeating Eveleth-Gilbert, 50-35 and Duluth Marshall, 36-33. The Eskomos advanced with a 66-7 victory over Hinckley-Finlayson and a 71-37 win over Aitkin.

The 4th seeded Proctor Rails (16-12) will open the night up with a matchup against the 3rd seeded Crosby-Ironton Rangers (16-12). They will will play at UMD and tipoff at 5:45pm.

The Eskomos, who are the highest seed remaining, are 22-6 on the season and will look to improve on that when they face the 2nd seeded International Falls Broncos, who are 18-8 on the year. That game will tipoff at 7:15pm.

The winners of both games will square off in the 7AA Section Finals with a trip to the State Tournament on the line. The game will be played at UMD on March 10th with a tipoff of 7pm.
