Bulldogs Win Holiday Tournament

The Carlton Bulldogs traveled to Chisholm to play in the Chisholm Holiday tournament. The Bulldogs would beat the Chisholm Bluestreaks on Thursday night, 66-62. They would follow up that victory with a narrow win over their rivals, the Wrenshall Wrens, 62-61 to win the championship.

On Thursday night, the Bulldogs were led by Tyler Ojibway who scored a game high 31 points. Following Ojibway was Matthew Hey, Sam Macor, and Eric Soderstrom all with 8 points. Nate Nilsen would chip in 5 points in the win, while Jackson Mickle added 3 points, Chase Parker scored 2 points, and Keijo Day topped it off with 1 point.

Leading Chisholm in the loss was Eli Sundquist with 23 points. Grayson Hartshorn and Alec Passenda each added 13 points.

In the championship game, Sam Macor propelled the Bulldogs with 20 points, while Waylon Lekander followed with 12 point. Also scoring was Matthew Hey 9 points, Tyler Ojibway with 8 points, Eric Soderstom adding 7 points, and Keijo Day topping it off with 6 points.

In the loss for the Wrens, Randy Wimmer scored a game high 28 points. Nick Mattson also scored in double digits with 12 points. Also scoring was Jared Kelley and Tyler Kelley each tallying 8 points, Eli Krisak added 3 points, and Phil Vine scored 2 points.

With the two victories, the Bulldogs are now 8-1 on the year and will be back in action at home on January 3rd when they host the North Branch Vikings, who are 3-3 this season.
