Carlton Softball Continues Playoff Roll

The Carlton Bulldogs reeled off their 11th straight victory on Thursday in the Section 7A quarterfinals by beating Littlefork-Bigfalls 12-4 behind the pitching and hitting of Mia Saunders.

Saunders tossed a complete game 7-hitter and she also pounded out three hits and drove in a pair of runs to help the offensive attack.

The Bulldogs had four players with at least two hits and both Saunders and Christy Eggert had three hits apiece. Brook Camps punched out two hits including a bases loaded double, Saunders had two hits and two RBI’s and Alanna Groth also had a pair of hits.

The win puts the Bulldogs in the Section 7A Final Four in Cloquet next Tuesday where they will play Nashwauk-Keewatin. N-K defeated Floodwood 7-1 in another quarterfinal round game on Thursday.
