Hawks Win In High Scoring Affair

The Hermantown Hawks and Hibbing Bluejacks combined for 102 points on Friday night, with the Hawks coming out on top, 60-42.

Matt Valure powered the way for the Hawks in the 1st half, scoring three touchdowns. The first came on a 27 yard pass from TJ Gamradt. Gamradt and Valure connected later in the 1st quarter for their second touchdown, this time on a 10 yard pass. Valure the scampered into the end zone from 16 yards out for his third touchdown of the half. Going into halftime, the Hawks led the Bluejackets 28-21.

In the 4th quarter, the Hawk tallied up 24 points, which was capped off with a 52 yard run by Luke Lindberg, his second touchdown of the game. Hermantown would use the strong 4th quarter to secure the high scoring 60-42 victory.

The Hawks improve to 3-0 on the season and will look to remain unbeaten when they travel to play the Duluth Denfeld Hunters (1-2) on September 23rd.
