Northland Sports Volleyball Recap

The Northland was filled with action packed volleyball match ups on Tuesday night.

Kicking it off, the Barnum Bombers toppled the Lakeview Christian Academy Lions in three sets, beating them 25-19, 26-24, and 25-16. Leading the way for the Bombers was Jessica Bird who had 8 kills and Lea Peterson who tallied 12 digs. The Bombers are now 2-5 on the season.

Next, the Hermantown Hawks swept the Greenway Raiders, beating them 25-18, 25-22, and 25-22 to move to 4-1 on the season. Jordyn Thomas powered the way with 13 kills for the Hawks, while Sierra Golen chipped in 9 kills.

The Moose Lake Willow River Rebels moved to 6-3 on the year after taking down the Cloquet Lumberjacks in three sets. The Rebels won by scores of 25-20, 25-23, and 25-19. Ally Bode had 10 kills paired with 21 digs in the victory.

The South Ridge Panthers move to 2-1 on the year after defeating the Wrenshall Wrens 25-18, 25-21, and 26-24. Marriah Janke had 13 kills for the Panthers while teammate Lily Price had 16 digs in the win.

The Duluth Marshall Hilltoppers defeated the Silver Bay Mariners in three consecutive matches, winning 25-18, 25-17, and 25-22. Kate Kleinschmidt led the way with 16 kills in the victory.
