Lumberjacks Blank Hunters

The Cloquet-Carlton Lumberjacks blanked the Duluth Denfeld Hunters on Monday night, winning by a score of 4-0.

Kendra Kelley got the Lumberjacks on the board first, scoring just 3 minutes into the game on a pass from Mackenzie Stevenson. At the 25th minute, Stevenson found herself hitting the back of the net, making it a 2-0 lead in favor of the Lumberjacks. Just 6 minutes later, Kelley found herself with another goal, this time on a pass from Kiana Bender to make it 3-0 heading into the half.

In the 2nd half, Alysha Anderson scored early to push the Lumberjacks lead to 4-0, which would be the final score.

Brandi Nelson stopped 4 shots for the Lumberjacks in the shutout victory. Alysha Volkenant stopped 15 in the loss for the Hunters.

 

The Lumberjacks are now 4-1-2 on the season and will look for another win on September 15th when they travel to play Two Harbors. The Hunters drop to 3-3 on the season and will be back in action on September 15th when they host Hibbing/Chisholm.
