The Minutemen of St. Paul Central jumped out to a 48-6 lead in the first half and never looked back as the Minutemen captured their third straight Wood City Classic Title.

Jack Backman  scored a game high 18 points, and Sam Gubbrud and Abdilkalak Muse each scored 12 points in a balanced scoring attack as the Minutemen move to 7-1 on the season.

The fast start was caused by pressure defense and strong outside shooting as the Minutemen rolled to a 58-18 lead at halftime. 20 first half turnovers led to 34 of the 58 first half points in the Minutemen win.

Cloquet made only 8 second half turnovers but the Minuteman’s huge lead was more then Cloquet could overcome as St. Paul Central out rebounded Cloquet 41-27 for the game.

Jordan Diver and Bryce Turnbull each had 12 points in the Lumberjacks loss.
