Cloquet tops Blake

The Cloquet Lumberjacks moved into the championship game of the Wood City Classic for the thirs straight season the Lumberjacks will face the Minutemen of St. Paul Central as the Lumberjacks defeated the Blake bears by a score of 78-61.

The Lumberjacks had to come from behind as they pulled off the win at home. Cloquet who saw the Bear strike fast as the Bears pulled out to an 14-3 lead early in the first half.

The Lumberjacks would close out the first half on a 23-13 run to cut the lead down to one at 27-26 at the break.

Cloquet started fast in the second half quickly as Cloquet pounded the ball inside to Riley Johnson and Johnson responded scoring 19 points to lead the Lumberjacks to the 17 point victory.

Jordan Diver added 18 points int he Lumberjack victory, and it was Bryce Turnbull and Joshua Bushey each scoring 13 in the win as Cloquet will now face St. Paul Central for the championship of the Wood City Classic.
