The CEC Lumberjacks remained hot on Thursday night, toppling Virginia/MIB 5-1 to win their 3rd straight game.

The Lumberjacks got out to a quick start when Dawsen Cossalter hit the back of the net 5:39 into the game to go up 1-0. Cole Litsey would make it 2-0, scoring just 15 seconds later for the Lumberjacks. Ryan Nelson would continue to hot shooting for the Lumberjacks, scoring 7:36 into the game to give the Lumberjacks the 3-0 advantage.

In the second period, Dylan Johnson moved the Lumberjacks up 4-0 scoring 4 minutes into the period. In the 3rd period, VMIB’s Luke Lamppa made it 4-1 scored 38 seconds into the period. Branden Matteen would top the scoring off in the game, scoring 2 minutes into the period, to seal the 5-1 victory for the Lumberjacks.

Casey Holshouser blocked 21 shots for the Lumberjacks in the win, while Niclas Westerholm stopped 32 for VMIB in the loss.

The Lumberjacks improve to 6-3 on the season and will look to extend their winning streak on December 19th when they travel to play Andover. Virginia/MIB fell to 2-5-2 on the season.
