For the first time since 1999, the Duluth Marshall Hilltoppers and Duluth East Greyhounds took the same ice. The Hilltoppers would extend the Greyhound losing streak to 4 after blanking them 4-0 on Wednesday night.

It took just 6 minutes into the first period for the Hilltoppers to grab the advantage when Lane Krenzen found Peter Lenz early in the first to make it 1-0. Krenzen would then get a goal of his own from a pass from Troy Shold at the 11 minute mark, increasing the lead to 2-0.

The Hilltoppers would remain in control through the second period and into the third. In the third, Lenz found the back of the net again, but this time it was without a goalie in the net for the Greyhounds. The Hilltoppers would score another empty netter when Carter Sullivan chipped it in, making it a final of 4-0.

Makaio Goods stopped 30 shots in the shut out victory for the Hilltoppers, while Kirk Meierhoff stopped 14 in the loss for the Greyhounds.

The Hilltoppers move to 2-6 on the year and will be back in action on December 19th when they host Breck. The Greyhounds falls to 4-4 after a 4-0 start. They will look to snap their losing skid on December 22nd when they travel to play Maple Grove.
