Sartell/Sauk Rapids defeats Lumberjacks

The Sartell/Sauk Rapids Storm N Sabers got three goals from three different skaters as the Sabers shutout the Cloquet-Esko-Carlton Lumberjacks 3-0 Saturday afternoon in Sartell.

Following a scoreless first period Amanda Flemming scored for the Sabers to give Sartell/Sauk Rapids a 1-0 lead late in the second period.

Flemming who finished with three points on the day assisted on the Sabers second goal midway through the third period when Megan Cook scored to make it a 2-0 lead.

The Sabers added an empty net goal as Brooke Walters sealed the victory.

Clare Minnerath was the winning goaltender for the Sabers stopping all 12 shots she faced in the shutout win.

Erin Genereau stopped 23 of the 25 shots she faced in the loss..
