Lumberjacks Open Season With Win

Cloquet-Esko-Carlton (1-0) cruised by Mounds View, with a score of 4-1, as CEC was paced by an all-around performance, and a two-goal night for Cole Litsey.

Dylan Johnson got things started in the first period for CEC, scoring on a power play. In the second period, it was all CEC again.

Ryan Bourgeault scored at 3:31, and would be answered by Mounds Views Wyatt Thole as he scored the goal at 4:29 in the second period. Litsey would answer right back, netting one in to bring the lead to 3-1.

Litsey would get the final goal for the Lumberjacks in the third period, making it two for him in the win.  Trevor Inman finished with 3 assists for CEC.

Eric Newman ended with 16 saves for the Jacks, while Joe Marcouiller had 30 for Mounds View in the loss.
