SAGINAW- Friday afternoon saw the AlBrook Falcons taking on the Barnum Bombers at home with the Falcons looking to improve to 7-1 on the season. AlBrook did just that as they came from behind and withstood a challenge in the top of the seventh inning to come away with the 10-8 Friday afternoon.

The Falcons, trailing 7-5 put across five runs in the bottom of the sixth inning to take a lead they would not give up. Josh Hogan led the Bombers with two home runs Friday, he hit a two run dinger in the first inning and he later added a solo shot in the sixth inning to add to the then Barnum Lead.

“Hogan hit the ball hard on us today,” Head Coach Damien Paulson told Northland Sports Online. “We battled back and we got some timely hitting which really help.” Paulson added. “Janke came in and did a great job pitching for us, it was nice for him to get the win and Bryce shut the Bombers down to pick up the save.”

Paul Lasik led the Falcons going 3-3 on the afternoon including a double. Drew Janke picked up the win for the Falcons and Bryce Karppinen got the save. Josh Hogan finished the game with three runs batted in for the Bombers and it was Justin Newman getting the loss for the winless Bombers.

The Falcons improve to 7-1 on the season and they are playing in a four team three game tournament in Deer River on Saturday. The Bombers remain winless at 0-6 on the season and they will take on the Cherry-Cotton Tigers on Monday at Cherry High School.
