Scheuer And Lind Win But CEC Falls To Virginia

John Scheuer and Ryan Lind provided wins in singles, but the Cloquet-Esko-Carlton boys tennis team struggled to find any more victories in a 5-2 loss at the hands of Virginia on the road on Thursday afternoon.

Scheuer beat Marc Krebsbach 7-5, 5-7, 7-6 in a great match and Lind downed Mark Skube 6-4, 7-6 in another exciting match up.

Sean Kedrowski fell at #1 singles to Blair Seitz of Virginia and at #4 singles it was CEC’s Christian Pritchett losing to Bryten Felix 6-1, 6-4.

The Blue Devils swept all three doubles matches including at #1 when Garret Hendrickson and Troy Nichols downed Ryan Kedrowski and Tanner Webster. At #2 doubles the CEC team of Luke Heine and Cameron Halfrisch dropped a decision to Jace Friedlieb and Tom Norlander, while Joey Skaudis and Tom Prittinen gave Virginia a sweep at #3 by beating CEC’s Josiah Sickler and Sam Jacobson.
