Aitkin Barely Nips CEC In Boys Tennis

Cloquet-Esko-Carlton had a solid effort, but they fell just short in a 4-3 boys tennis loss to an always competitive Aitkin squad on Thursday.

Sean Kedrowski kicked things off for CEC by taking #1 singles 3-6, 7-6 and 6-1 over Alex Anderson. That hot streak continued at #2 singles when John Scheuer downed the Gobbler’s Jack Reever 6-3, 6-2. Aitkin bounced back at #3 singles when Dan Klucas narrowly slipped by Ryan Lind and Lyle Nuberg barely defeated Christian Pritchett in a tight match.

The CEC #1 doubles team of Ryan Kedrowski and Tanner Webster lost 7-5, 6-2 to Eric Raushel and Kevin Hughes, but CEC evened things at #2 doubles when Luke Heine and Cameron Halfrisch slipped by Adam Burke and Tyler Michaletz. The final doubles match went to Aitkin’s #3 doubles team of Ryan Rosemore and Tyan Anderson who defeated the CEC duo of Josiah Sickler and Sam Jacobson 6-0, 6-3.
