A pair of senior pitchers combined for a three-hitter in leading the Cloquet Lumberjacks to an 11-2 win over Eveleth-Gilbert at Braun Park on Monday afternoon.

Haley Sobczak and Denise Rodd, both seniors, frustrated the bats of the Golden Bears most of the afternoon in picking up the pitching win. Sobczak went four innings and allowed two hits, while Rodd pitched three innings and fanned four while allowing just one hit.

Offensively the Jacks relied on the steady bat of junior catcher Lizz Jezierski who has had an impressive spring. Jezierski smacked out two hits and added three RBIs.

Helping the offense out were Alyssa Michaelson who had three hits, Kayla Masessa who had two hits including a triple and Kelly Carlson who also tripled.
