Barnum Girls Make Short Work Of Cook County

After falling to AlBrook earlier this season, first year Coach Sarah Yrjanson seems to have the Lady Bombers refocused as they won their third straight Monday afternoon by defeating the East Central Eagles by a score of 10-0 in 5 innings.

The Bombers pick up their fifth win of the season in the five inning shutout of the Eagles. Lauren Hultgren picked up her fifth win of the season; she struck out 7 batters, walked 3 while allowing only one hit in the Barnum win.

Jessica Newman has her bat going after a slow start form the plate this season, Newman went 4-4 with 2 RBI’s and scored two runs. Allainie Hanek-Siltanen was 2-3 with 3 RBI’s and a double, Paige Rilea finished 2-3 with three runs scored and Kerra Rowell was 2-2 with a RBI in the Bombers shutout win.

Barnum improves to 5-1 on the season overall. They are in action on Tuesday at home when they host Cook County in a Polar League Conference match-up. The Eagles fall to 3-6 overall and they will play at Ogilvie on Tuesday afternoon.
