The Hermantown Hawks for the fifth consecutive season have defeated the Proctor Rails for the Hammer Friday night in Proctor by a score of 68-0.

 

James Lindberg kicked the scoring off for the Hawks, scoring from a 4 yard plunge, making it an early 7-0 score. Thomas Madison would make it 14-0 at the end of the 1st after scampering for a 26 yard run.

The Hawks would have a huge 2nd quarter, scoring 33 points to make it 47-0 at the half. Peter Grytdahl scored the first touchdown of the quarter on a 18 yard run, making it a 21-0 score. Madison scored his second touchdown of the game, this time on a 9 yard plunge, making it 28-0. Lindberg would also find the end zone for his second time after rushing to the end zone from 26 yards out, increasing the Hawks lead to 35-0. The Hawks would air it out for their 6th touchdown of the game with Nick Bostrom connecting with Zack Brendon of a 49 yard pass play to push the lopsided score to 41-0. It moved to 47-0 after Christina Comstock picked off a pass and returned it 67 yards to the house.

Hermantown kept the gas pedal down when Matt Valure scored on a 10 yard run in the 3rd quarter to make it 54-0. Value scored again in the quarter, pushing it to 60-0. In the 4th quarter, the score would be moved to 68-0 when Jake Hausmann pushed into the end zone from 3 yards away, with Andy Hooper converting the 2 point attempt.

The Hawks moved to 7-0 on the season and will have their final regular season game on October 8th when they travel to take on the MLWR Rebels (5-2). The Rails fall to 4-3 on the season and will travel to take on the Two Harbors Agates (5-2) on October 8th.
