Only John Scheuer at #2 singles and Ryan Lind at #3 singles could provide wins on Monday afternoon as the Cloquet-Esko-Carlton boys tennis team fell 5-2 to Duluth East. While the goal is always to win the contest, taking two matches against one of the elite programs is a nice step for the young CEC team that has only one senior on the roster.

At #1 singles Bauer LeSavage of East beat CEC’s Sean Kedrowski 6-0, 6-3 and Martin Schneider beat CEC’s Christian Pritchett at $3 singles 6-0, 6-1.

The Greyhounds swept all the doubles events. At #1 doubles the team of Greg Peckham and Kevin Seiler downed the CEC team of Ryan Kedrowksi and Luke Heine 6-1, 6-1. At #2 doubles it was Keegan Flaherty and Peder Norr beating Josiah Sickler and tanner Webster 6-0, 6-4. And finally at #3 doubles the East team of Carson Kolodge and Aaron Zubsinski beat Chase Keye and Cameron Halfrisch 6-1, 7-5.

Weather permitting; the Jacks will be back in action on Tuesday when they host the Ashland Oredockers.
