CEC Boys Tennis Sweeps Superior 7-0

From the first game of the match to the final game of the match the Cloquet-Esko-Carlton boys tennis team proved to be too much for Superior as the Jacks handed the Spartans a 7-0 stomping on Thursday afternoon.

Sean Kedrowski opened #1 singles play for CEC with a 6-1, 3-6, 7-5 win over Zac Erickson of Superior in a magnificently played affair. At #2 singles CEC’s John Scheuer downed Shawn Mattson 6-1, 6-1. Ryan Kedrowski took #3 singles with a 6-1, 6-0 win over Ethan Walpole and Ryan Lind of CEC also won at #4 singles by a 6-4, 6-3 score over Weston Morris.

The theme of sweep continued on into doubles action as Luke Heine and Tanner Webster of CEC downed Luke Briemon and Brian Schmitt 6-2, 4-6 6-2 at #1 doubles. At #2 doubles the CEC team of Josiah Sickler and Cameron Halfrisch beat Derek Strass and Mark Pierpon 6-1, 6-0 and the match was finished off by Christian Pritchett and Joey Gotchnik in 6-2, 6-0 fashion over Zac Rieswig and Tyler Walsh.
