Duluth Central carried just enough fire power to beat Hermantown 4-3 in boys tennis on Thursday afternoon.

The Trojans got wins from Cory Bolen and Kyle Stupka at #2 and #3 singles respectively and then used another pair of wins in doubles action to take the match.

Hermantown picked up a win at #1 singles when Jeremy Amys beat Tony Petrick of DC 6-0, 6-0. However Bolen notched a win at #2 singles by beating Hermantown’s Joel Gustafson 6-1, 6-3 and at #3 singles it was DC’s Kyle Stupka beat Cody Neubarth 6-3, 6-1. Hermantown picked up a win at #4 singles when Nakul Aggarwal beat Brendan Johnson 6-4, 6-4.

The Trojans then picked up wins at #1 doubles from Aaron Stinson and Hank Slaka and at #2 doubles by Caleb Reder and Mike Stukel to put the match away. Stinson and Slaka downed Jesse Dyson and Brett Sterk 6-2, 3-6 and 6-2, while Reder and Stukel beat Travis Peterson and Nolan Myre 6-2 and 6-3.
