Hermantown Tennis Nets 7-0 Win

The Hermantown Hawks completed a seven game sweep of conference rival Superior at Hermantown on Thursday afternoon. The Hawks swept all four singles matches and all three doubles matches to move to 1-1 on the season.


In singles action it was Jeremy Amys defeating Zac Ericson 6-4, 6-1 in number one singles. Number two singles saw Joel Gustufson beating Shawn Mattson 7-5, 6-3. In number three singles it was Cody Nuebarth defeating Mark Pierpont 6-0 and 6-1, and in the last singles match Nakul Aggarwal knocked off Derek Struss 6-2 and 6-0.


The three doubles matches saw Jesse Dyson and Nolan Myre defeating Luke Brieman and Brian Schmidt 6-3 and 6-1. In the second doubles it was Brett Sterk and Travis Peterson going 6- and 6-0 versus Zach Reiswig and Tyler Walsh. The last doubles event was won by Sean Gibbon and Brody Dammer beating Aaron Knicker and Zach Schnell 6-0 and 6-0.


The Hawks will be in action again on Saturday
face Lakeville South at 8:30 in the morning. The Cougars will have a slight advantage as they will have played five matches before the meet on Saturday. The Cougars are 3-1 entering action on Thursday against Eastview.
