Proctor Loses Close One To Grand Rapids

The game saw many turnovers from both teams, as the Rails would fumble five times, and Grand Rapids throwing 2 interceptions, as well as 2 fumbles of their own. Spencer Yurrick of Grand Rapids had the game winning score on a 19-yard run in the fourth quarter to propel his team to victory.

 

Starting the scoring off for Grand Rapids was Eric Soderberg scoring on a 4-yard run. Jake Malec of Proctor would find the end zone shortly after in the second quarter, getting in on a 3-yard rush. Proctor would score again later on in the 3rd quarter, as it was AJ Maas plunging it in from the 1-yard line. Grand Rapids would have no trouble answering right back, as it was Yurrick sneaking in on a 1-yard run.

 

The final score of the night would prove to be the deciding factor, as Yurrick found the end zone 19 yards out to secure the win for Grand Rapids. The Rails will take on the Hibbing Bluejackets Friday, Sep.11 in Hibbing. Grand Rapids will look to gain another win, as they will travel to Cloquet to take on the Lumberjacks.
