Thunder Split With Rainy River

Fond du Lac Tribal and Community College split a softball doubleheader with Rainy River on Monday afternoon at Braun Park. The Thunder fell 9-6 in the opener and bounced back to take game two 9-7.

Casey Pierce of McGregor had two hits in the opening game loss, while Rachel Sanda of Cloquet and Lisa Muehlberger of Duluth Central both had two RBI’s in the game. Katie Youngberg of Moose Lake-Willow River took the loss on the mound.

The Thunder rebounded to take game two behind the pitching of Kassi Neary of Hill City who got the win. Anna Engelmeier of Hermantown had two hits and scored twice to lead the offense, while Ariel Morris of AlBrook went 3-for-3. Morris and Holly Nelson of Carlton both had two RBI’s for the Thunder, who are now 7-7 on the season.
