Three local teams that play girls softball in section 5A all lost in their opening round contest on Tuesday afternoon.

The Barnum Bombers lost their opening round game against the Isle Huskies falling by the score of 16-11 in Isle Tuesday afternoon. The Huskies the number 4 seed beat the 5 seeded Bombers to advance where they will face Rush City.

The Tiger beat East Central Tuesday by a score of 23-0 in five innings as the top seeded Tigers advance. Barnum ends the season 6-11 overall and East Central closes their season with a 2-13 record.

East Central had defeated McGregor earlier Tuesday in section 5A play by a score of 11-5. McGregor ends the season 2-13.

Cromwell also lost Tuesday in the section 5A playoffs by a score of 20-1, the Cardinals were the seven seed as the lost to the second seeded Ogilvie Tigers. Cromwell closes their season with a 3-14 record.

Barnum and Cromwell playing in their last section 5A playoffs will move to section 7A next year with the section realignment.

McGregor and East Central will remain in section 5A for their playoffs.
