Rails Beat Greenway

PROCTOR — Proctor defeated Greenway, 14-6, in a non-conference baseball game to win the 2015 season’s home opener. Winning pitcher John Aase (4-1 W-L, 2.13 ERA) worked the first four innings and allowed five runs (four earned) on five hits and three walks.

He had two strikeouts. Brandt Forstrom pitched the final three innings for his second save of the season. Forstrom allowed one run on four hits and two walks with three strikeouts.

Matt Morris paced the Rails’ offense, with a three-for-four performance with a double, five RBIs, three runs scored, and two stolen bases. He hit a three-run double in the Rails’ seven-run second inning.

Aase was two-for-two with a double, two runs, and two RBIs, and Jake Malec was one-for-three with a triple, two runs, and two RBIs. Matt Tracey contributed two RBIs and two stolen bases.

Greenway’s Kole Kalish was the losing pitcher. He allowed seven runs (none earned) in two innings on two hits, three walks, and one hit batsman with two strikeouts.

The Raiders were led by Jacob Neumeyer, who was three-for-four with two triples, a run, and an RBI.

Proctor, now 7-2, hosts Two Harbors on Friday, May 1, at 4:30 p.m.
