The South Ridge Panthers had a rematch of the Section 7A finals from last season, when they traveled to Ely on Monday night. The Panthers would once again fall to the Timberwolves, this time in heartbreaking fashion.

The Timberwolves scored 6 runs in the bottom of the 7th inning, 3 of which came off a game winning double by Elliot Omerza, which sealed the game at 8-7.

Spencer Gaulke got the win for the Timberwolves, pitching one inning and having an unearned run score off him. Zach Johnson took the loss for the Panthers.

For the Timberwolves, Cole Kellogg went 2-3, Pat Huisman went 2-4 with a double and an RBI, and Elliot Omerza drove in 3 with the game winning double.

For the Panthers, Reid Clark went 2-4 with a double and an RBI. He also scored 3 runs. Christian Houle went 1-3 and scored twice.

The Timberwolves are now 4-0 on the season, while the Panthers fall to 7-2. The Panthers will look to bounce back when they host the Two Harbors Agates on April 28th.
