Former Cloquet High School baseball standout, Paul Kolodge, continued to deliver for the St. Scholastica Saints today. Kolodge, a junior catcher, ripped a single to centerfield to score Chad Peterson in the bottom of the 11th inning in today’s NCAA Division III playoff game against St. Norbert College in Oshkosh, Wisconsin.

Scholastica will advance to the second round of the tournament in a 7 p.m. game tonight against St. Thomas of St. Paul.

The single by Kolodge gave the Saints a 7-6 win in a game they led 5-0 at one point. Scholastica got off to a great start when Brian Marshik led off with a home run to left field in the first inning and they added a run in the bottom of the inning when Peterson scored on a bases-loaded grounder.

The Saints plated 3 more runs in the fourth inning as they were aided by a couple of errors by St. Norbert.

However, St. Norbert managed to tie the game in the later innings, sending it into extra innings before Kolodge provided the late game heroics.
