MLA Boys Finish Regular Season In A Big Way

The Moose Lake Area boys hockey team finished the regular season with a 9-3 trouncing of Two Harbors at Riverside Arena in Moose Lake on Thursday night. Tyler Cisar slammed in five goals and Zach Cisar recorded the hat trick for the Rebels in the win.

MLA opened with a bang when Tyler Cisar rifled in a goal just seven seconds into the game and the rout was on. Zach Cisar scored back-to-back goals at 7:11 and 8:54 with Jake Cisar and Tyler Cisar assisting on both tallies. Then Tyler Cisar got back into the scoring act with a goal at 10:10. At the 14:00 minute mark it was Zach Cisar from Michael Gassert and finally at 15:36 Tyler Cisar closed out the period with Zach Cisar assisting. By the time the dust cleared the Rebels held a 6-0 lead and had outshot the Agates 21-5 in the period.

Second period action saw Austyn Wasko score at 7:21 for the Agates, but the Rebels bounced right back at 7:33 when Stephen Gassert scored from Chris Gassert to make it 7-1. At 11:25 Wasko scored on the power play for Two Harbors to cut the lead to 7-2, but just 35 seconds later it was Tyler Cisar scoring a shorthanded goal for the Rebels to make it 8-2. Ben Ruberg scored on the power play for Two Harbors at 14:30, but Tyler Cisar again had an answer for the Rebels at 15:18 with a power play goal that was assisted by Josh Cisar and Zach Cisar.

Both teams played two goalies in the game with the Rebels goaltenders, Austin Lanoue and Gage Moholsky finishing with 21 saves combined, while the Agate duo of Kody Waldron and Micky Smith combined for 36 saves on 45 shots by the Rebels.
