Eveleth-Gilbert Girls Win Section 7A Championship

Cloquet – Riding the momentum from their 5-2 win over Moose Lake Area on Tuesday, Eveleth-Gilbert defeated #1 seed Chisago Lakes Area by a score of 4-1 on Friday night in Cloquet. With the win the Golden Bears captured the Section 7A girls hockey championship and will move on to the 2010-2011 State Tournament in St. Paul.

Senior center Kayla Moe got things started for Eveleth-Gilbert, scoring the first goal for the Golden Bears. Amanda Arbogast tallied goals two and three while Caley Westin sealed the victory with an empty net goal to close out the scoring.

Rehanna Duncan scored the lone goal for Chisago Lakes Area.
